The UFO Watchtower is located about 2 1/2 mile north of Hooper, Colorado, which is about 40 minutes north of Alamosa, CO., in the San Luis Valley, home of many UFO sightings. My wife and I traveled down there to check out this "bizarre Colorado" site, on July 23, 2005. Below is the link to Judy Messoline's (she owns and operates the Watchtower and Gift Shop) website, and some pictures we took on the trip there. Enjoy!
A half mile from the site, on our right, we came upon this little guy.
A short drive later, we were met by this feller. I think he/she/it was All Talk.
Finally, we pulled up to the site. As you can make out better on her website, in the back is a small domed building, which is the gift shop, where the cool UFO stuff can be bought (trinkets and such; not "artifacts"), including Judy's book, That Crazy Lady Down The Road, which just came out this year (2005). In front is an all metal "watchtower" platform, which you can climb atop. Gives a nice view, but I'd watch yourself when storm clouds and lightening roll in. To the front of this area are some rock gardens that are said to have two vortices in them, and which have attracted people to leave all kinds of things, from coins and a Bart Simpson doll, to a radar dish with an alien face painted on it. Personally, I felt no vortex energy.
I spent some time talking with Judy, and she seemed like a pleasant enough...human. She even seemed to have had her head screwed on right and tight.
It was a cool little roadtrip, and interesting place WAY out in the middle of nowhere. So, as I leave you with this image, check out her website, and better yet, actually GO there. It truly is...bizarre Colorado....
